The New Pistol Range

Rain couldn’t delay the delivery of the new clubhouse for the Winnipesaukee Sportsmen’s Club. The old clubhouse was lost to the heavy snows of the 2007- 08 winter season. Last summer was spent determining the best quality lowest cost replacement for the old clubhouse and securing the necessary permits from the town for the replacement building. The Shed Connection in Brentwood provided the best package to meet the club’s needs. The new clubhouse will be used for club meetings and provide a classroom location for training. Joe Bib of The Shed Connection supervised the installation of the clubhouse. Here are pictures of the clubhouse being delivered and set in place. The last 2 pictures in this set are the new Trap Deck.
The WSC has established a special dedicated fund to further the work on our new pistol range. Last year we cleared the area, built a berm and prepared the area for use as a pistol shooting range. It went into operation last summer. This year we obtained a building permit, completed site work for the shed, poured a concrete slab and erected a frame which established the shooting positions and benches. There is much more work to do to complete the project. We need a roof, walls and storage units as well as extending power and security cameras to complete the project. Except for the site work, all the labor for the project has been volunteer help by your fellow members.
The Board of Directors has established this special fund so that we may be able to get a roof on the frame this season. The estimated cost of the materials for the roof is approximately $2000.00. Any donation made to this fund will go directly to purchase materials to complete the project. Any amount you donate will be greatly appreciated. When sending a check to the club, please indicate that the money is to be used for the Pistol Shooting Shed Fund.
